Mom's Blueberry Batter Cake

2-4 Cups blueberries (the more the juicier)

juice of 1/2 lemon (approx 1 Tablespoon)

3 T shortening (or butter, or mix)

1 t. baking powder

1 Cup flour

1/4 t. salt

1/2 t. vanilla extract

1/2 Cup milk

3/4 Cup sugar

----------------------------------------

1 Cup sugar

1/4 t. salt

1-2 T cornstarch (depends how many cups berries)

1 Cup boiling water

Place berries in a well greased pan and sprinkle with lemon juice. Make batter and pour over berries, smoothing out towards edges, don't worry if it doesn't cover. Combine sugar, salt and cornstarch and sprinkle over batter and berries. Pour boiling water over all. Bake 350 for 70 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
